SEED4COM (Sustainable Energy and Enterprise Development for Communities) aims to provide renewable energy solutions to last mile communities, promote sustainable development, foster social enterprise and save the environment. However, along the way of achieving these objectives, certain needs from the communities arise. Because we see the need as an avenue to promote and encourage growth in the community, SEED4COM either find means to provide for that need or connect the community with the right individuals or organization that has the capacity to address it.
Over the years, SEED4COM has successfully partnered with different individuals and organizations in organizing community outreach programs to meet the needs of rural communities. Through this, SEED4COM has been able to successfully introduced its vision to various program. All these because we have responded to the needs of the community. In partnership with Project Enkindle, SEED4COM has provided:
- training volunteers to install and put up solar energy
- assisted devastated areas where electricity has been cut
- provided far flung communities with solar powered electricity and lighting
However, the work never stops and SEED4COM continues to engage the communities by giving them access to renewable energy. Through the Hero of Light project, SEED4COM aims to provide our fisher folks renewable and sustainable energy. You can learn about this initiative here.
